Rural Sociologist Recognized for Work on Regional Inequities
COLUMBUS, Ohio – When studying inequality, most sociologists focus on the local level -- cities, communities, and neighborhoods -- or examine differences across national boundaries. But until recently, there was no cohesive work examining inequality across regions within a nation with a sociological perspective. Linda Lobao's work has helped fill that gap.

My husband was diagnosed with diabetes with a blood sugar level of 180 milligrams per deciliter. A friend who has diabetes said 180 is really pre-diabetes -- a level of 200 is needed for diabetes. Why would the doctor say my husband has diabetes?
